Heute ist der 01. November 2021. Wie die meisten von euch inzwischen vermutlich wissen, ist dies der Tag, an welchem sich der neue Stadtrat Oldenburgs das erste Mal (hier in den Weser Ems Hallen [1] ) trifft. In dieser ersten „konstituierenden“ Sitzung wird vieles entschlossen und bestimmt, z.B. welche Person Vorsitzende*r wird und somit die künftigen Sitzungen leitet.[2] Aber auch diese folgenden Sitzungen sind sehr wichtig. Einmal im Monat thematisiert der neu zusammen gesetzte Rat die Zukunft Oldenburgs, indem über „die grundlegenden Ziele der Entwicklung der Kommune“[3] gesprochen wird.
Übrigens – diese Sitzungen haben in der Regel einen ersten, öffentlichen Teil. Das heißt auch ihr könnt teilnehmen und in der „Einwohner*innenfragestunde“ [4] gezielt Fragen an den Stadtrat stellen. Allerdings „maximal drei“, nicht ohne diese vorher offiziell und schriftlich beim Oberbürgermeister eingereicht zu haben und nach 60 Minuten ist dann auch eh Schluss mit Fragestunde.[5]
Reicht uns das? Nein!
Wir wollen mitreden! Und vor allem wollen wir – genau wie unsere Mitstreiter*innen heute – Veränderung! Veränderung und Handeln statt leerer Worte und Versprechen! Doch wie können wir das erreichen? Und mal ganz ehrlich – was bedeutet das überhaupt konkret?
Um einer Antwort auf diese Fragen ein Stück näher zu kommen, haben wir uns etwas überlegt. Und zwar etwas, dass für EUCH ALLE und jede weitere Person in und um Oldenburg möglich ist. Ihr alle dürft, könnt und sollt mitreden (und das darf auch länger als 60 Minuten dauern)!
Wir, vom Bündnis für solidarische Intervention, starten heute – mit dem Beginn der neuen Ratsperiode – auch etwas Neues: eine neue Kampagne mit dem Titel „Oldenburg – eine Stadt für alle!“.
Inspiriert von der Veranstaltung „Vom Sicheren Hafen zur Solidarity City? Perspektiven für ein solidarisches Oldenburg“ der Seebrücke Oldenburg, möchten wir mit euch allen unser Wunschbild eines „Oldenburg für alle“ erarbeiten und entstehen lassen. Eine Utopie also – denn mehr ist es leider noch nicht: es ist ein Zustand, den wir uns zwar vorstellen können, welcher aber (noch) nicht wirklich existiert.
Zur Kampagne: Ab heute – in einem ersten Schritt – laden wir Oldenburger Gruppen, Initiativen und (kultur)-politische Einrichtungen dazu ein, ihre Utopie eines solidarischen Oldenburgs zu entwickeln und dabei sowohl Kritik als auch Handlungsvorschläge zu formulieren. Eine genaue Anleitung des Ganzen findet ihr ab sofort auf unserer Webseite (www.buendnisfsi.wordpress.com) oder über Instagram und Twitter (unser Profilname: @buendnis_fsi).
Im zweiten Teil der Kampagne werden auch Einzel- und Privatpersonen die Möglichkeit haben ihre Vorstellung einer „Stadt für alle“ deutlich zu machen und Teil des Prozesses zu werden. Schaut dafür auf unserer Webseite vorbei, dort informieren wir euch rechtzeitig.
Lasst uns gemeinsam eine Utopie zeichnen und zeigen was hier alles falsch läuft! Lasst uns Missstände sichtbar machen und ihnen langfristig und nachhaltig entgegentreten!

Wir fordern Veränderung und Handeln statt leerer Worte und Versprechen! Wir sind viele und wir sind laut! Wir wollen mitreden! Und das werden wir! Denn wir wollen ein solidarisches Oldenburg – eine „Stadt für alle“!

Today is the first day of November.
As most of you probably know by now, this is the day when Oldenburg’s new city council meets for the first time (here in the Weser Ems Hallen). In this first „constituent“ meeting, many things are decided and determined, for example which person will become chairperson and thus lead the future meetings. But the following meetings are also very important. Once a month, the newly constituted council discusses the future of Oldenburg by talking about „the basic goals of the development of the municipality“.
By the way – these meetings usually have a first, public part. This means that you can also take part and ask the city council specific questions during the „residents‘ question time“. However, „a maximum of three questions“, not without having submitted them officially and in writing to the Mayor beforehand, and after 60 minutes question time is over anyway.
Is that enough for us? No! We want to have our say! And above all we want – just like our fellow campaigners today – change! Change and action instead of empty words and promises!
But how can we achieve this? And let’s be honest – what does that mean in concrete terms? In order to get a little closer to an answer to this, we have come up with something. Something that is possible for ALL of you and every other person in and around Oldenburg.
You all may, can and should have your say (and it may take longer than 60 minutes)! We, from the Bündnis für solidarische Intervention Oldenburg, are also starting something new today – with the beginning of the new council period: a new campaign called „Oldenburg – a city for all!“.
Inspired by the event „From Safe Harbour to Solidarity City? Perspectives for a solidary Oldenburg“ of the Seebrücke Oldenburg (at this point a big thank you for all that you do here!), we would like to work with all of you to develop and create our idea of an „Oldenburg for all“.
A utopia, because – unfortunately – that’s all it is yet: it’s a state that we can imagine, but which doesn’t really exist. About the campaign: Starting today – in a first step – we invite Oldenburg groups, initiatives and (cultural) political institutions to develop their utopia of a solidary Oldenburg and to formulate both – criticism and proposals for action. In the second part of the campaign, individuals will also have the opportunity to express their vision of a „city for all“ and become part of the process. Check out our website to do so. Let’s draw an utopia together and show what is going wrong here! Let’s make problematic structures visible and confront them long-term!

We demand change and action instead of empty words and promises! We are many and we are loud! We want to have our say! And we will!
